The Hazara-Welsh Community in South Wales was officially established on 11 April 2023. Before this date, there was no official organisation representing us; instead, a few Hazara families living in Cardiff decided to come together to change that, becoming the charity’s very first members and trustees. We began this journey because we recognised a genuine need for a formal organisation to support the growing Hazara population in the South Wales and to help build a lasting bond between the Hazara and Welsh communities.
By establishing ourselves as a registered community, we created a reliable structure to manage our work through a committee of trustees elected by our members. From the very beginning, our focus has been on building a strong and safe foundation where our heritage is preserved and where we can collaborate with other groups to help our community thrive.
